Love Is In The Air In Bali, Island Of Romance

Bali is for lovers...whether for Valentine's, weddings, anniversaries or any other celebration that honor coupledom. It's full moon and Valentine's this year at Tamu Seseh, a gay-owned villa complex located on the edge of a fishing village (Selasih Beach) and surrounded by rice paddies, both providing romantic sunset vistas.

Bali's Little Black Book deservedly includes the luxurious villas at Tamu Seseh...a place to celebrate or rekindle love and relationships. Apparently, there have been several gay weddings at the villas, and couples who previously had a holiday at Tamu Seseh have come back for their special day.

I'm told lesbians prefer the cosy one-bedroom overlooking mangoes, and that men who travel in couples or groups like to party around the pool in the three-bedroom units. There's something romantic about watching the sun set over the rice fields out back.

Or maybe it has to do with the magic masseurs – a man for men and a woman for women. But more likely it has to do with the water. Both men and women like the Erotic Bath package, whereby you turn the outdoor bathroom and marble tub into a Garden of Eden. The “Pleasure Pack” includes atraditional herbal aphrodisiac labelled Kuda Dua X. Pop one in your mouth to release the serpent and desire within. Next move to the shower for coconut and vanilla scrub and apply to each other sensually. Rinse in the candlelit tub awash with flowers and a milk bath of sandalwood and yiang yiang. Soak, towel each other dry, and let the real fun start by leaving the rest up to your imagination. (Other mood enhancers include champagne, wine, beer, romantic music – and a full moon if that time of the month.)

Once Bali's most exclusive gay-owned villa property (before others opened), Tamu Seseh is now hosted by 5-star hospitality veteran Listi, and her gay assistant manager, Adi, who make your stay a seamless sequence of enjoyable experiences. Because the villas are completely private, you can be au naturel in the infinity pool lounge area and garden bathrooms. Make yourself at home at this oasis and let the peace and tranquillity of the village and friendly staff create a memorable and relaxing experience. (You can bring a laptop and work – if you don't feel chagrined when signing in with password “tranquillity.”

I don’t know what it is with men’s jeans that make it so difficult to find the right pair. It takes time to go through all these denim brands and try styles like straight-legged, boot-cut, and then the disco favorite, flared jeans. Thanks to popular metal bands back in the day, acid-washed and stone-washed jeans were a thing–pair those with a biker jacket and some big hair, and you were set.

I think we’ve all been there back in the day when we smoked our first joint, and then some, (sorry mom)–hacking, coughing, and choking on the herbaceous weed. Nowadays, there are several products on the market that produces the same effects but without a sore throat like the popular cannabis edibles.
