Today is election day in Metro Nashville

Metro Nashville voters will go to the polls today to elect a new mayor, vice-mayor, five council-at-large positions and new district councilmembers. Voters will also have the chance to participate in a historical first, as two openly-gay candidates (Shane Burkett and Keith Durbin) are on the ballot for two different district council seats. 

Polls are open today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
