Thomas the Tank Engine™ pulls into Nashville and Middle Tennessee

All aboard to celebrate 60 years of Thomas & Friends. It’s an anniversary party every day, as Thomas the Tank Engine rolls into Nashville and Middle Tennessee for Day Out With Thomas 2005: The Celebration Tour. This fun-filled family event offers preschoolers and their families the opportunity to take a 25-minute (approximate) ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, and is sure to engineer miles of smiles for every guest. Thomas & Friends will be making tracks to great destinations across America , and this stop will be hosted by Tennessee Central Railway Museum www.tcry.org, at 220 Willow St in Nashville , Tenn. 37210-2159 , Sept 3-4 and 10-11, 2005.

2005 marks the 60th Anniversary of the introduction of The Railway Series, the classic storybooks of Thomas & Friends. In honor of this milestone, Thomas the Tank Engine is chugging around the country to celebrate with all of his friends! Parents, grandparents and siblings join their aspiring young engineers in sharing the Day Out With Thomas 2005: The Celebration Tour experience. This limited-engagement, one-year-only experience features a variety of Thomas & Friends-themed entertainment for the entire family, including:

  • Meet and take a photo with Sir Topham Hatt™
  • Imagination Station featuring hands-on arts and crafts activities
  • Storytelling, video viewing and live music
  • Many more 60th Anniversary events!

The tour provides a unique, interactive family experience at every station, offering a variety of entertaining activities that reflect the local flavor of each stop. At the Tennessee Central Railway Museum activities will include inflatable play venues, a petting zoo, tours of a restored caboose, live musical entertainment, Thomas Gift Shop, an operating N scale model railroad, clowns, temporary tattoos and photo opportunities with Thomas.

The 25-minute train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, will depart every hour on the hour, rain or shine, between 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily. When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare, so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.
