ChillOut Festival Celebrates 25 Years Of Queer Country Pride

Join the campers, glampers and pampered as ChillOut Festival, March 10-14, 2022, takes the message of diversity and inclusion to the main streets of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs, Victoria Australia in 2022.

Everyone loves a parade, and ChillOut’s annual street parade is a brash and colorful celebration of queer country pride. There's also a selection of free and ticketed events including a bushwalk, art exhibition, pool party, garden party, foam party, Bush Dance, Tea Dance, and much, much more.

Things to do & see

The festival program is packed with activities, from games to golf, horse riding to high tea — but the twin towns of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs are worth exploring for their Australian country charm.

Nestled in the Central Highlands at the foot of the Great Dividing Range an hour or so from Melbourne - these towns are the perfect home for the ChillOut festival. The land around there contains some 80 per cent of Australia’s natural mineral springs, and over the years, this has brought about the development of some of the best local day spas and natural therapy centers, including the famous Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa. There is also a well-equipped gymnasium, as well as many health food outlets to cater for every dietary need, not to mention art galleries, wineries, bookshops and fascinating retail outlets (many of which are gay owned).

The only contender would probably be whiskey. Meh, but they have their own day. Now, it's National Margarita Day and we put together some of the best margarita recipes around so you can pick one or maybe even all of them to try.

We have a few surprises in there too. Maybe it's not all about tequila but it certainly has a theme going on. Take a look at some of these great tequila brands and start making some amazing margaritas today!

Gender-Inclusive Universities and Student Privacy

For many students, attending university is a profound, often life-changing, transition. It is often the student’s first time living on their own without parental supervision. This lifestyle is also accompanied by a period of self-discovery, of defining and redefining a sense of personal identity largely independent of the influence of family and friends from home.

For students who are members of the LGBTQ+ community, this rite of passage can also be a deeply empowering one. Indeed, attending university may be the student’s first real opportunity to explore their gender identity in a safe, comfortable, and accepting college.

I had the opportunity to visit Mexico for an event José Cuervo was putting on, the unveiling of their premium tequila brand, Reserva de la Familia. The trip was all about tequila, how to drink it properly, how to pair it with food, and of course, visiting various points of interest in Guadalajara while tasting tequila along the way.
