A night of free movies is provided by OutCentral in conjunction with Outloud! every Thursday at The Café at Outloud! from 7-10:00 p.m.

The event starts with a surprise short film selection and has a feature film presentation at 8 p.m. that will showcase a wide range of GLBT DVD releases and camp classics. This month, ten percent of Café sales from 6-10 p.m. will be donated to Nashville Pride.

Planned features include Whole New Thing on October 4, The Gymnast on October 11, Coffee Date on October 18, and ending with the camp classic All About Eve on October 25.

“Each week our group of regulars keeps growing, and it is nice to see so many parts of the community come together,” says Sister Right Sarong, event emcee.

Whole New Thing

A precocious teenage genius is suddenly forced to adapt to the real world, while the real world around him is having some growing pains of its own in this independent comedy drama from Canada. The Gymnast

The talented Jane Hawkins (Dreya Weber, Lovely & Amazing) was an impressive gymnast at the top of her game until a devastating injury ended her career. Now she pours the passion, strength and discipline that once fueled her sport into maintaining both a tedious job as a massage therapist and a loveless marriage. A chance meeting sets Jane on a new path: performing a CirqueDu Soleil style aerial act with a mysterious and beautiful dancer named Serena (Addie Yungmee). Each of them is illuminated by the presence of the other, but there are distractions. Jane is distressed by her lack of children while Serena is a closeted lesbian who tackles stereotypes with being an adopted Korean daughter of Jewish parents. Coffee Date

When an internet 'Coffee Date' goes awry, comedy ensues… Uptight and impeccably groomed, Todd (Jonathan Bray) is set up on an internet blind date by his brother Barry (Jonathan Silverman). The date, to Todd’s surprise, is with Kelly (Wilson Cruz), a gay man. The two strike up a friendship and take revenge on Barry by reversing the joke, sauntering past him holding hands! Convinced that Todd is gay, Barry calls their mother (Sally Kirkland) who hops on the next plane. Despite Todd’s vehement denials, Mom now sees Todd’s love of movies and theatre, as well as his lack of interest in sports as clear signs she’d previously missed. It doesn’t take long before everyone in his life thinks he’s gay, including his co-workers (Deborah Gibson, Jason Stuart). This bedroom farce gets even more complicated when Kelly’s roommate (Elaine Hendrix) adds her chemistry to the fray! Heartfelt and hilarious, it’s a must-see movie with something for everyone!

Some Like It Hot

Some Like It Hot tells the story of two struggling musicians, Joe and Jerry (Curtis and Lemmon), who are on the run from a Chicago gang after witnessing the Saint Valentine's Day massacre of 1929. Spats Columbo (Raft), the gangster in charge, orders the execution of Jerry and Joe. They escape in the confusion and decide to leave town, but the only out-of-town job they can find is in an all-girl band. The two disguise themselves as women and call themselves Josephine and Geraldine (later he changes it to Daphne). They join the band and go to Florida by train. Joe and Jerry both fall for "Sugar Kane" Kowalczyk (Monroe), the band's sexy Polish-American vocalist and ukulele player, and fight for her affection while maintaining their disguises.
