Nashville CARES urges individuals to be tested for HIV on June 27, National HIV Testing Day (NHTD).

“The courageous act of routine HIV screening is one of the healthiest, paradigm changing acts anyone can do for their personal and community public health,” said CARES Chief Program Officer, Patrick Luther.  “It gives everyone unprecedented access to early HIV care that substantially prolongs the quality and quantity of life with HIV.  It protects future generations from the disease itself.  And, routine screening by everyone, by its occurrence in an ongoing way, halts the very things that have created the epidemic itself - stigma, hate, misinformation, stereotype, ignorance, apathy and indifference.”

Walk-in testing is also provided during normal business hours at Nashville CARES at 633 Thompson Lane.  For more information, call their HEARTline at 1-800-845-4266.
