Music City go-go boys set to make you gaga

East Nashville restaurant and bar Mad Donna's is serving up a new treat for customers, but it won't fit on a plate.

Under the guidance of Music City Gogo Producer Sam Coole, Nashville's only all-male revue makes its debut on Sunday, Feb. 8, on the upper level of Mad Donna's - and they'll be as close to nude as legally allowed.

The first troop of its kind in Nashville, Music City Gogo will transform the the second-floor bar of Mad Donna's each Sunday night into an intimate, cabaret-style setting for a burlesque show.

Cover charge at the door is $5 beginning at 8 p.m. when the all-male cast will take to individual platforms in nothing but their underwear. Choreographed performances will begin at 9 p.m.

"The idea is that the guys are sexy enough that people want to see them, but the atmosphere is still conducive to a straight crowd," Coole said. "It's sensual and sexy, not sleazy or dirty."

Coole and his dancers work under an assumed alias and requested that their real names not be used in this article.

The line-up of go-go boys promises to offer something for every appetite with dancers spanning from a beefy former marine to a svelte, classically-trained ballerina. Although some of the dancers barely look 18, Coole said all are 18 or older. But, patrons be warned, you still can't touch them.

State laws prohibit the dancers from touching patrons and vice verse, which means no lap dances are allowed.

MC go-go boy Kameron Scott, a frat-boy type who hails from New Orleans, said he has been hitting the gym a little more often in preparation for the new gig. Scott previously worked as go-go dancer at Corner Pocket bar in New Orleans.

"There are definitely more stipulations on what you can't do here (in Nashville)," Scott said.

The boys said other dancers will travel from Clarksville and Birmingham, Ala., for some performances. But none have come as far as central Florida transplant Adam Valentine. He moved to Nashville in mid-January before being introduced to the MC go-go team.

"There are lots of things like this in Florida but I found nothing in Nashville until I got hooked up with these guys," Valentine said. "I'm really impressed with level of professionalism they have."

The brooding, emo twink seems shy, but the boys promise that he comes alive on stage.

"As soon as he gets his clothes off he’s a different person," Scott said.

Titan's dancer Melissa Hodges is the group's choreographer and also offered the go-go boys tips for sexing-up their solo platform dances. Coole said having a female choreographer adds another layer of sensuality to the dancers' act.

He said the boys likely will be available for bookings at events and private parties within two or three months.

As an LGBTQ+ patient, you should be able to expect the same high-quality care provided to all patients. Unfortunately, this doesn’t necessarily always prove to be the case. There remains a notoriously significant disparity in healthcare outcomes for LGBTQ+ patients, often related to issues with discrimination among providers.

Even when you find a good physician, this doesn’t mean that everyone interacting with your healthcare information will be as respectful or responsible. It is, therefore, important to be vigilant about how your data is handled. You have a right to privacy just as you have an expectation of fair treatment.
