Marriage amendment debate to air live on NewsChannel 5+

A live debate will air on NewsChannel 5+ (cable channel 50) on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.  between Randy Tarkington, campaign manager of Vote No on One and David Fowler, president of the Family Action Council of Tennessee.

Chris Clark will moderate the debate, which will air as part of Openline. The show will reair on Tuesday at 10 p.m. and Wednesday at 11 a.m.

In addition to Tarkington and Fowler,Elections Coordinator Brook Thompson will be on the show to talk about Amendment 1, and the process it takes for voters to approve or disapprove a constitutional amendment.

Viewers, who are normally able to call-in on Openline, will not be able to do so due to time constraints on the debate. Viewers are urged to email their questions before the show to plus@newschannel5.com .

Tarkington and Fowler will each be given a two minute opening statement. Veteran newsman Clark will then guide the debate.
