International rollerderby championship in Nashville Oct 31 — Nov 2

AUSTIN, TEXAS – The top women’s flat track roller derby leagues in the world will compete for the sport’s top honors during the international 2014 Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) Division 1 and 2 Championships. The tournament will be held Oct. 31-Nov. 2 at the Municipal Auditorium in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, and is hosted by the Nashville Rollergirls. This year’s tournament includes teams from five countries, the most diverse group of teams to qualify for Championships in WFTDA history.

The international WFTDA Playoffs and Championships tournament series brings together the most talented, highly trained and committed skaters and officials from WFTDA member leagues to display the “Real, Strong, Athletic and Revolutionary” game play that pushes the limits of the sport worldwide. Whether participating on the track, cheering in the stands or watching online, the WFTDA tournaments provide everyone who loves roller derby an opportunity to witness the most anticipated match-ups of the year.

The teams competing in Nashville earned their spots by being among the top finishers in the two Division 2 Playoffs and four Division 1 Playoffs, which took place throughout August, September and early October. Now, 12 Division 1 teams will leave everything on the track during the three-day tournament as they try and lay claim to the “Hydra” trophy and the title of WFTDA Champions. Four Division 2 teams will close out their season in the D2 Championship and Third Place games.

WhistlePig + Alfa Romeo F1

SHOREHAM, VT (September 13, 2023) — WhistlePig Whiskey, the leaders in independent craft whiskey, and Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake are waving the checkered flag on a legend-worthy release that’s taking whiskey to G-Force levels. The Limited Edition PiggyBack Legends Series: Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake Barrel is a high Rye Whiskey selected by the Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake drivers, with barrels trialed in their wind tunnel to ensure a thrilling taste in every sip.

The third iteration in WhistlePig’s Single Barrel PiggyBack Legends Series, the Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake Barrel is bottled at 96.77 proof, a nod to Valtteri Bottas’ racing number, 77, and the precision of racing. Inspired by Zhou Guanyu, the first Chinese F1 driver, this Rye Whiskey is finished with lychee and oolong tea. Herbal and floral notes of the oolong tea complement the herbaceous notes of WhistlePig’s signature PiggyBack 100% Rye, rounded out with a juicy tropical fruit finish and a touch of spice.

Nurse Practitioner Ari Kravitz

When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare, so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.
