The Brooks Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee is partnering with popular Nashville artist Trevor in a project that will allow people to send holiday greeting cards and benefit the Middle Tennessee GLBT community at the same time.

“We are thrilled that Trevor was so generous in donating his work for this, the first card of its kind that helps so many in our community,” said Mike Smith, chair of the Brooks Fund Advisory Board. “I hope that everyone will log on to our Web site and see just how beautiful it is, and then make a donation to the Brooks Fund. We will do the rest; fill it out; hand address; and mail the card to anyone or everyone on your list. This is a great, easy, and inexpensive way to contribute and help further the work of the Brooks Fund.”

Whether you want to send one card to a friend or 101 to your entire client list, the volunteers at the Brooks Fund are committed to getting them signed, sealed and delivered in time for the holidays. All you have to do is provide us the names and addresses of the recipients. Donations will be accepted beginning November 15. With the help of our generous donors, supporters and volunteers over the past eleven years, The Brooks Fund has granted over $135,000 to a variety of nonprofit organizations. These organizations offer a wide range of services to the Middle Tennessee community:

• Cultural activities like film festivals and plays
• Outreach programs focusing on crisis management, violence prevention, and healthcare access
• Youth programs offering counseling, mentoring, and scholarships
• Community services such as hotlines, peer counseling, and support groups
• Training programs on topics of sensitivity/diversity, youth issues, and safety.

The Brooks Fund is committed to increasing its endowment and support of worthy organizations that are working to build bridges and break down barriers.

Trevor is a self-taught, contemporary artist from Nashville, Tenn. He creates paintings with a whimsical, sophisticated style that is unmistakable. Trevor paints with a vivid imagination, vibrant paint and a palette knife. His work is shown at Bennett Gallery in Nashville, Weber Fine Art in D.C., Barrie Holt Gallery in New Orleans, and Wilde Meyer Galleries in Scottsdale and Tucson, Arizona.

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee oversees more than 565 charitable funds. In the past fourteen years, The Community Foundation has distributed $290 million to community programs and institutions.
