Phoenix is celebrating a decade of fundraising through dining – and you're invited

The 10th anniversary of Dining Out for Life in Phoenix – along with thousands of individuals in cities across the U.S. and Canada – will be take place April 30.
This international, one-day dining event, hosted by Subaru and presented by azcentral.com will benefit Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS in Phoenix and Northland Cares in Prescott.
Each year, restaurant patrons are invited support the fight against HIV/AIDS by dining out at a participating restaurant (for a complete listing, visit diningoutforlife.com).
In support of this cause, dozens of restaurants across the Valley, and in Prescott, will be participating and will be donating a portion of the day’s proceeds to support programs and services offered by both agencies. Returning this year in Phoenix, with 100 percent of their proceeds being donated, are Barrio Café and MacAlpine’s Restaurant and Soda Fountain, and Red Thai with 75 percent.
For 25 years, Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS has been the only organization in the Southwestern U.S. to combine prevention and education programs, health and wellness services, as well as research and clinical trials in a single location and reaches more than 30,000 at-risk individuals each year. Southwest Center has helped to bring 32 of the 34 available HIV/AIDS medications to market, contributing to worldwide research. The mission of Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS is to prevent and reduce infection, improve the quality of life for those impacted nu HIV/AIDS, and contribute to worldwide research. Our vision is to lead the fight against HIV and AIDS.
Founded in 1991, the idea of Dining Out for Life was created by an Action AIDS volunteer in Philadelphia. Two years later, the event went international. Today, Dining Out for Life includes over 60 cities and 3,500 restaurants throughout North America, collectively raising nearly $4 million annually for HIV/AIDS programs.
