‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2007’ to include record number of live performances from Times Square

Chart-topper Christina Aguilera will rock in the New Year with live performances from Times Square during “Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2007” airing Sunday, Dec. 31, on the ABC Television Network.

For the primetime special, country superstars Rascal Flatts will lead the world-class roster of performances that also includes the stars of Broadway’s “Jersey Boys” as the show expands from one to a record three performances, live from the show’s exclusive performance stage on Military Island before almost 1 million people, and tens of million more viewers at home.

Other musical acts for the 35th consecutive year of the special will include Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield, Meat Loaf and Latin music phenomenon RBD, all from the Hollywood party. Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest will host three specials from New York on this evening, making three and one-half hours of special New Year’s programming:

“Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2007” (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET)

“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2007, Part 1” (11:35 p.m. -1:05 a.m. ET)

“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2007, Part 2” (1:05-2:05 a.m. ET)

Christina Aguilera has sold well over 25 million albums worldwide and cultivated a fan base that crosses generational, racial and gender lines. Now, segueing from the audacious sexuality of her second studio album, “Stripped,” the performer pays tribute to the music that has inspired her with the release of “Back To Basics."

The reigning 2006 CMA, ACM and CMT Vocal Group of the Year, Rascal Flatts has sold over 13 million albums and just wrapped their latest tour with over one million people in attendance. Also in 2006, they have sold more albums than any music act with the sales of “Me And My Gang” and “Feels Like Today” and recently won two American Music Awards.

“Jersey Boys,” the smash hit Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, is the hottest ticket on Broadway. Based on the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Jersey Boys is the winner of four 2006 Tony Awards® including Best Musical. Other Tony Awards® include Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical and Best Lighting Design of a Musical. “Jersey Boys” officially opened on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005 at Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre.
