Nashville,TN, July 11, 2014 - In a compelling and heartrending journey, we meet a priest who must reconcile his desires with his role in the church, a teenage boy confused about his sexual identity, and a young woman desperate for spiritual validation. They are all brought together on one fateful night in which they discover the tenuous common ground they share. Playwright Kate Fodor doesn't neatly tie up the story, but, rather, elicits profound unanswered questions of faith and our dependence on one another for our spiritual worth. 100 Saints You Should Know is a serious play with a sharp comic edge.

About the Play:
Father Matthew (Brandon Boyd) has served his congregation faithfully but suddenly leaves the parish without warning and returns to the home of his mother, Colleen (Terry Occhiogrosso). He is pursued by Theresa (Robyn Berg), the cleaning person at his rectory, who seeks some kind of spiritual worth and acknowledgment. Abby (Emily Faith), Theresa's teenage daughter, confronts him about his professed calling by God into the ministry, and about her own guilt at being an "evil person". And, Garrett (Aaron Ardisson), a grocery delivery boy, desperately seeks Father McNally's advice and guidance. An unexpected crisis brings all of these characters into confrontation. As faith is shaken and tried, Father McNally must face his own spiritual demons and greatest fear.
Showcasing Actors Bridge’s mission to present emotionally authentic acting and relevant social issues, this is a serious play with a sharp comic edge. The play stars Brandon Boyd as Father McNally, Terry Occhiogrosso as his mother, Colleen, Robyn Berg as Theresa, Emily Faith as Theresa's daughter Abby, and Aaron Ardisson as Garrett. 100 Saints You Should Know is directed by Actors Bridge Meisner Teaching Artist, C.J. Tucker and is part of Actors Bridge's 2014 The Secret's Out Season. Presenting stories that are often kept secret, this season explores cultural taboos in the service of creating community dialogue, inviting our audiences to consider their preconceptions and connect with their neighbors despite their differences.
