Nashville Pride announces 25th Anniversary partnership

The 25th annual Nashville Pride Festival will return to Riverfront Park on June 15, this year presented by Coors Light. The annual event is
Tennessee’s largest celebration of LGBT diversity and continues to garner growing support from sponsors nationally and locally.

Pride President Allan Gonce said support from Coors Light speaks to the increasing awareness of the importance of LGBT equality on a national and local level and also bodes well for the future of Nashville Pride, a nonprofit organization.

“We are thrilled to have the generous support of Coors Light as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary in 2013,” Gonce said. “Thanks to our many national and local sponsors and donors, we are confident that this year’s festival will raise the bar once again for celebrating diversity and equality in Tennessee.”

Nashville Pride joins a respected list of LGBT organizations supported by Coors Light including The Trevor Project®, Matthew Shepard Foundation, GLAAD®, HRC, and Out and Equal. Other sponsors of Nashville Pride 2013 include Bridgestone, Curb Records, Hard Rock Cafe, Play Dance Bar, Tribe, Video Game Technologies, Nashville GLBT Chamber of Commerce, Baker Donelson, Vanderbilt University and Fifth Third Bank.

In fact, Coors Light was the first brewery to institute a non-discrimnation clause based upon sexual identity in 1978 and GLBT Coors employees have enjoyed full domestic partner benefits since 1995.

General admission to the 25th Annual Nashville Pride Festival is $5 and allows access to more than 100 vendors in the Nashville GLBT Chamber Marketplace, live entertainment on three stages, an inflatable kids’ zone, artists’ village, mobile food vendors, cold cocktails and much more. The event runs from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. VIP tickets ($50) are available online and include private bar, two drink tickets, food and private restrooms.

The event will kick-off with the Equality Walk. More than 300 people walked the one-mile loop in 2012 representing more than 20 community groups and increasing awareness of the celebration well beyond the festival gates.

The third iteration in WhistlePig’s Single Barrel PiggyBack Legends Series, the Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake Barrel is bottled at 96.77 proof, a nod to Valtteri Bottas’ racing number, 77, and the precision of racing. Inspired by Zhou Guanyu, the first Chinese F1 driver, this Rye Whiskey is finished with lychee and oolong tea. Herbal and floral notes of the oolong tea complement the herbaceous notes of WhistlePig’s signature PiggyBack 100% Rye, rounded out with a juicy tropical fruit finish and a touch of spice.

Nurse Practitioner Ari Kravitz

When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare, so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.
