Ask Francine - Local Republican Activist Killed at Plaza Art Fair

Local Republican Activist Killed at Plaza Art Fair
Kansas City’s sassy-tongued columnist, who went by the moniker Francine N., was killed last Sunday afternoon when a 600-pound stainless-steel kitten sculpture plummeted off its 6-foot-base and impaled her with its razor-sharp whiskers.

Francine, commonly known as Kansas City’s Favorite Christian, had just been released from a court-ordered mandate to write a column for Kansas City’s gay magazine, Camp. She had written this column since September 2007.

“I loathed every minute of it,” she told Fox 4 news in an interview last week.

Francine made national news during the 2008 election when her unflattering description of congressional candidate Sam Graves’ wife turned up in Roll Call, which reports on Capitol Hill news..

She also claimed to convert several gays and lesbians from their same-sex orientation with her poise and grace.

Her mother, Leona Walters, survives her at a nursing home in Peculiar, MO.

Long-time friend Sarah Palin and local notable, The Most Reverend Robert Finn will speak at her funeral, which will be by invitation only at the Sprint Center on October 8th.

Her body will lie in state, first in the Kansas Capitol Rotunda and then in the Missouri Capitol Rotunda, during the week before her funeral.

A pyramid-crypt is currently under construction near the Lake of the Ozarks, and interment will take place in approximately two years. Her temporary tomb will be in the basement of the Kansas City Chapter of the Republican Party.

Donations can be made in her name to the conservative charity of your choice.
Editor's Note: With this last installment of "Ask Francine", we bid a fond farewell to Kansas City's favorite Christian conservative. Francine had offered her slightly skewed viewpoint on issues in the Kansas City metropolitan area’s LGBT community in each issue of Camp. And since you’re asking, yes, she’s a fictional character. Well, you asked.

Nurse Practitioner Ari Kravitz

When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare, so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.
