AEQUALITAS MEDIA is set to launch a Chicago focused LGBTQ+ Magazine

Chicago based Aequalitas Media announced today they will be launching a new LGBTQ+ media brand in March of 2021. OUTvoices will be a website (www.outvoices.us) which will feature exclusive national content from our editors as well as curated content from members of the OUTvoices network of publishers. OUTvoices will publish a print magazine 6x per year and will be for and about the LGBTQ+ community and the issues that affect us", says CEO DJ Doran. "OUTvoices Magazine will focus editorially on feature length articles written by talented and respected LGBTQ+ writers and allies rather than breaking news. This will allow our editorial team the time to develop story topics on the issues that affect our community", says Doran. The first major market where OUTvoices Magazine will be distributed is Chicago. "I envision a local version of OUTvoices Magazine to be in all of the major markets (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and South Florida) in the future.

"Besides the print publications, OUTvoices will also offer 24-hour internet based OUTvoices Radio on its website. This 24-hour streaming radio station will provide listeners with 24-hour programming 7 days a week on OutVoices.us or via our OUTvoices app in development downloaded to your Apple/Android device. A mix of news, opinion, entertainment, and streaming music, OUTvoices Radio will give listeners an eclectic choice of LGBTQ+ programming to choose from.

OUTvoices will also produce original video content via our YouTube channel OUTvoices TV, which will offer viewers studio quality streaming shows that interest our community.

When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare, so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.
