'Wanderlust' Travel Raffle offers $2,000 prize, raises money for Brook's Fund

Tickets went on sale today for the fifth annual 'Wanderlust' Travel Raffle, a fundraiser for the Brook's Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Ticket holders will have the chance to win a $2,000 travel voucher good for destinations in the U.S. and abroad.

“The funds we raise during the annual ‘Wanderlust’ raffle are vitally important to the support and development of programs that enhance the quality of life for the LGBT community in Middle Tennessee,” said Suzanne Bradford, Brooks Fund board chair. “We are grateful for the community’s continued support and encourage those who haven’t attended Wanderlust in the past to join us this year for what promises to be an entertaining evening.”

The event, which is being held Friday, June 12, at the Lane Motor Museum, benefits the H. Franklin Brooks Philanthropic Fund, a charitable fund dedicated to encouraging the inclusion, acceptance and recognition of Middle Tennessee's GLBT community. Tickets can be purchased at thebrooksfund.org.

The 'Wanderlust' raffle has raised $99,340 for the Brook's Fund since its inception in 2005. It raised $12,130 its first year and has steadily increased each year bringing in $34,870 in 2008. The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee oversees more than 700 charitable funds and has distributed $426 million to community programs and institutions in the past 17 years.

During the raffle, guests will be offered door prizes, a silent auction, entertainment by DJ Mindub, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.  A $50 raffle ticket covers both entrance to the party and a chance to win the $2,000 voucher. The raffle winner will be announced during the Wanderlust Party but does not have to be present at the raffle to win. Party-only tickets are $35.
