The boys are back in town, 'Jersey Boys' that is

Their songs have been covered by everyone from Lauryn Hill to Barry Manilow and this weekend you have the chance to join audiences as they rediscover a musical legacy that stretches back over 60 years. Much like a live Vh-1 Behind the Music, the story of The Four Seasons unfolds as four Jersey boys became "one of the greatest pop sensations in music history." Perfect for audiences of any age, Jersey Boys draws audiences together with music.

The cast delivers searing sarcasm, side-splitting one liners and melodrama with a range of emotion that will draw the audience in, and bring the stories of Rock and Roll Hall of Famers: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, and Nick Massi to life!

Nick Cosgrove, Jason Kappus, Brandon Andrus and Nicolas Dromard fully develop the characters of the handsome 1950’s heartthrobs. Taking music history, Jersey Boys crafts a story that is designed to touch nearly every human emotion. Audiences get to see the story from the perspectives of the performers, the audiences, and the people behind the scenes. During the production, you feel the heightened emotion of a performer on a stage for the first time not knowing what to expect, the synergy of a 1950s American Band Stand Audience celebrating its famed pop icons, and the frustrations and loyalty between lives bonded together from meager beginnings in the Jersey projects.

Thousands of theatergoers cheered when Jersey Boys made its premiere in Nashville in 2009 and now this Tony, Grammy and Oliver Award winning story is once again gracing TPAC’s Andrew Jackson Hall.

Stacey Clayton, a TPAC Braodway Series subscriber for the past 23 years, saw this show the first time it came to Nashville and observed some slight changes but enjoyed it just as much the second time around.

"I love how this play shows the influence that Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons had on the music industry and brings in the Nashville connection,” Clayton said. “The language was a little stronger than I remembered but the characters and staging were still very effective.”

Worldwide, more than 14 million people have seen Jersey Boys. Tickets to see the story of how this group of Rock and Roll legends wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide can be purchased through the Tennessee Performing Arts Center at www.tpac.org.
