The Tennessee Arts Commission Gallery presents: Down to Earth. Photographs by Stacey Irvin and Ceramics by Tim Roberts. Stacey Irvin explained her recent work: “I have always been drawn to people who live and work with a close connection to the land. In addition, I am inspired by the experience of relating to people whose culture and daily lives are distinctly different from my own. It is increasingly important to remember our humanity, what we hold in common despite our differences. The portraits and landscapes in this exhibit are moments that reflect my experiences with people and the land in Kenya.

The exhibit will be on display until Feb. 22. TAC Gallery, 401 Charlotte Avenue (downtown Nashville),is open to the public. Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

The Gallery at The Parthenon: Victoria Boone: Gravity and Merit will run through April 19, and The Abundance Series: Paintings by Marla Faith will run through April 5. “The city of Nashville exhibits a diverse sociology, which makes it an appropriate time to exhibit Marla Faith. In her portraits of Nashville women, her dynamic painting style of color and bold stroke dovetails nicely with her intentions to explore different belief systems,” says Susan Shockley, curator.
