Tennessee Repertory Theatre challenges Nashville, 'Are You Game?'

An evening of TV game show spoofs and Hollywood glamour will benefit Tennessee Repertory Theatre on Saturday, April 2. From the start of the cocktail hour at 7 p.m. through dinner and an after dinner show, guests can play and win prizes as four different games are presented in the theaters and lobbies of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

"We're planning an evening full of glamour, laughter and celebrity sightings, building on the fun and excitement of the event we launched for the first time last year," said Michael Burcham, who is co-chairing the event with Thom Meek.

"With the flashing lights of the 'paparazzi' cameras and our localized parodies of TV's most popular game shows, the event promises great prizes and wonderful memories," added Meek.

Tire’d of Misfortune,” a parody of the well-known evening game show, may not have a $100,000 final prize, but guests will take a “spin” and travel down familiar Nashville streets and boulevards. Participants will win themed prizes as they enjoy cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres in the TPAC atrium lobby.

A Hollywood take on the usual silent auction, “You Write the Price” offers guests a chance to “come on down” and experience the magic of television. Throughout the evening, guests will use their pens to vie for fabulous Nashville prizes.

Following dinner, guests will be whisked to the Polk Theater main stage as the studio audience for “Hook, Line and Sinker” featuring two Nashville celebrities vying for a “date” with one of three lucky contestants. Although the game is set in Nashville’s own Cumberland River, none of the Hollywood magic will be lost as the stars interview contestants to “hook” a “date.”

The evening’s main event, “Nashville Circles” will offer four lucky contestants the chance to tic-tac-toe their way to fabulous prizes. Set in a life-size Hollywood set, Tennessee’s own parody of the hotly contested game show promises laughter until the final commercial break.

Admission is $150 per person for cocktails, seated dinner and the chance to watch and participate in the game show spoofs; $1,500 for a reserved table for ten. Young Patrons tickets are $75 per person. Available to individuals 35 and under, Young Patrons tickets provide cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres and the chance to watch and participate in the game show spoofs. Reservations can be made by calling 615-782-4049 or visiting www.AreYouGameNashville.com.
