SpeakOut - Have Some Fun and Do Some Good

Dear LGBT Community:
The fall event and fundraising season will soon to be in full swing! The AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City continues to appreciate all of your thoughtful, generous and compassionate support for our events. All of the funds from these events remain here at home, supporting the missions of Hope Care Center, Good Samaritan Project, KC Free Health Clinic and SAVE Inc. We hope you will join us in one or all of the following this fall.

On Sunday, Sept. 12, the AIDS Bicycle Challenge, a non-competitive ride, will start and end in the Richard L. Berkley Riverfront Park. There are four rides offered, including a new one for kids! Registration will open at 7 a.m., and we will stagger the four rides in hopes that everyone will return to the park about the same time for what is already shaping up to be a great post-ride celebration! Check out our website at www.aidsbicyclechallenge.org for more details.

On Saturday, Oct. 16, from 2 to 5 p.m., rain or shine, we hope you will join us again and be a part of KC Beerfest at Legends Outlets in Kansas City, Kan.! Dedicated to producing an outstanding regional event, KC Beerfest aims to educate and enhance the public’s knowledge of craft brews, while raising funds for the AIDS Service Foundation and Kansas City Free Health Clinic. There will be live music, food vendors and the Time Warner Sports Lounge, the place to go if you want to catch a glimpse of the college football games in progress. Check out our website at www.kcbeerfest.com for more details.

On Wednesday, Dec. 1, which is World AIDS Day, the AIDS Service Foundation will start its annual Week of Observance with a community luncheon and a public reception that evening. We invite you be with us as we remember those brave men, women and children we have lost to this hideous disease and recommit to the fight against HIV/AIDS at both the global and local levels. Visit us at www.asfkc.org for more details.

Again, all of us connected to ASF sincerely appreciate the wide support that this community continues to share for those living with HIV/AIDS in Kansas City. If you have questions about the AIDS Service Foundation or our events, please call us at 816-931-0959.

I look forward to seeing you along the way this fall as we all join together in the hope that one day we will know a world with HIV/AIDS.
Sincerely,
John Pinkerton
President, AIDS Service Foundation
