RV and camper super show comes to Nashville

More than 300 recreational vehicles of all designs, applications and sizes are converging on the Nashville Convention January 19, 20, and 21, 2007 for the Nashville RV & Camper SuperShow.

Family Campers will have a large presence at the show and encourages Out & About Newspaper readers to drop by their booth to see the latest in RVs.

During the event, WSM Radio, Forest River and Family Camper will sponsor a $5000 Camper Giveaway to occur at the 2007 SuperShow. Attendees may register at the event and online prior to the show.

A showcase for the fast-growing recreational vehicle industry, the 2007 RV & Camper SuperShow will feature the latest and widest selection of recreational vehicles and campers ranging in price from thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Dealers will demonstrate the high-tech features and nifty gadgets that boost the appeal of RVs across generations and target audiences. Exquisite entertainment and communications systems now complement such traditional amenities as fully-equipped kitchens and baths, central heat and air conditioning. Each is designed to provide RV owners and renters with the freedom and flexibility only RV travel can provide.

Based on sales at similar shows in the South and Midwest and the growing economy, the show’s organizers expect sales transactions to reach millions of dollars.

According to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association, manufacturers are offering flat-screen televisions, VCRs, satellite dishes and surround-sound CD and DVD players along with automatic leveling systems and closed-circuit rear-view cameras to assist backing up—and many more amenities. All will be on view for inspection and at the RV show, according to Hague Atkinson of byDesign Publishing, the show’s producer and presenter.

“Celebrate RV lifestyles with the largest Regional RV dealers featuring Class A, B C—toy haulers, tent campers and truck campers,” he says, “and see what’s next in this always-changing industry.”

For example, visitors will see top-of-the line units such as the Heartland Landmark, a “a fifth wheel” complete with “Texas-sized” storage space, Corian countertops and fireplaces, and a spacious bedroom design with built-in shelves and cabinets with the residential feel of a traditional home.

Or they may see the DoubleTree Mobile Suite, with a full entertainment suite complete with a 42-inch plasma screen, double-door slide outs or a choice of a fabulous kitchen that would satisfy the most discerning cook.

Americans are hitting the road in record numbers in their RVs, increasing comfort and saving money while embracing the Recreational Vehicle lifestyle of flexibility. A recent study conducted by the travel and research consulting firm PKF Consulting showed that vacationers can save up to 70 percent less, depending on the type of equipment used, than a trip conducted via a standard means.

“That’s the terrific aspect of RVs,” says Atkinson. “The models at the show combine the aspect of luxury and flexibility almost unique to RVs.”
