Back by popular demand, the Nashville Symphony and Regions Financial Corp. will present the “Regions Free Day of Music” on Saturday, October 6 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
This free event, taking place throughout the Symphony Center from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., will showcase more than 30 performances by a diverse selection of Nashville-based artists and ensembles.
“Regions FREE Day of Music” will kick off with the Middle Tennessee State University’s marching band, Band of Blue, marching over the Shelby Street pedestrian bridge and making a grand entrance on Symphony Place. Other participants will include the Nashville Symphony, ALIAS, organist Andrew Risinger, The Pat Coil Trio, the Blair Suzuki Students, the MTSU Salsa Band, Belmont Musical Theatre and Bone Therapy, a trombone ensemble made up of local physicians.
“Regions Free Day of Music gives the community an excellent opportunity to explore and celebrate our new concert hall, and in fact, last year more than 16,000 people joined us for this musical open house,” said Alan D. Valentine, president and CEO of the Nashville Symphony. “Thanks to Regions’ generous contribution, we are able to open our home once again and provide a variety of great music to everyone at no cost.”
In addition to enjoying the myriad performances, guests are also free to explore the new Symphony Center; shop in the Symphony Store; enjoy a variety of food or drink options; and take the little ones on a tour of the instrument petting zoo. The Nashville Symphony box office will also offer 20% off discounts on tickets to select concerts.

Passes to the "Regions Free Day of Music" will be issued on-site on October 6 beginning at 9:30 a.m., and each guest will receive one pass upon entering. Guests may stay as long as they like but are asked to return the pass when leaving so that other guests may enter.
Please note that free shuttle buses will be running between Schermerhorn Symphony Center’s "Regions Free Day of Music" and Scarritt-Bennett and Metro Parks’ Celebration of Cultures in Centennial Park, also sponsored by Regions.
