RAW: Nashville announces 45 local nominees contending to represent the Nashville community in the 4th annual RAWards Semi-Finals competition.
Over the past two weeks, RAW: natural born artists hosted an online nomination process for 10,000 independent artists across the globe. The online popular vote and local Showcase Director’s weigh-in narrowed the top 3 out of 5 artists to represent Nashville in the semifinal showcase.
Award categories include:
- RAW: NASHVILLE Filmmaker of the Year
- RAW: NASHVILLE Fashion Designer of the Year
- RAW: NASHVILLE Musician(s) of the Year
- RAW: NASHVILLE Visual Artist of the Year
- RAW: NASHVILLE Photographer of the Year
- RAW: NASHVILLE Hairstylist of the Year
- RAW: NASHVILLE Makeup Artist of the Year
- RAW: NASHVILLE Performing Artist of the Year
The local community will be asked to cast a live vote at the semifinal showcase on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 7 p.m. to midnight at Mercy Lounge on One Cannery Row Nashville, TN 37203. The community popular vote will consist of 50 percent, while the scores of three local judges — Stacy McCloud of FOX 17, Alicia Boswell of Nashville Fashion Events and Coffee Jones of the Grammy nominated hip-hop group GRITS — will consist of the other 50 percent. Scores will be tallied and announced live at the end of the showcase.
The final nine winners will go on to represent the city in the final round of national judging on Friday, Nov. 18. The national RAWards winners will receive career-boosting prizes like distribution, store placement, studio time, gallery placement and consultation with industry executives and professionals.
Tickets to this year’s local RAWards can be purchased for $15 pre-sale online at RAWartists.org/Nashville. Tickets are $20 at the door.
