O&AN announces new advertising account executive

Out & About Nashville has expanded its sales force with a new account executive. Effective immediately, John Mays joins the O&AN staff as an advertising representative, facilitating and managing successful partnerships with advertisers in an effort to promote mutual growth.

Eric Ginsberg will continue in his role as Director of Marketing, Sales and Events.

“We are privileged and excited to have someone of John's caliber and exceptional talent to join our sales team,” said O&AN Publisher Jerry Jones. “Our advertisers will find him a delight to work with.”

“I am very excited to have John join our team” said Ginsberg. “His enthusiasm for the cause, and great personality will take him far. I look forward to working with him.”

Born in Mobile, Alabama, John’s family moved numerous times during his formative years. After graduating from MTSU, his own journey took him to Hollywood where he worked at Paramount Pictures and the Chasin Agency. Having experienced much of what Hollywood had to offer, John returned to his Southern roots in Nashville where he worked for Arista Records and Warner Bros. Later changing his marketing communications focus he served as Public Relations Manager at St. Thomas Hospital and was the second president of NAPP, which later became the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce.

For the last eleven years John worked in Dallas as a residential Realtor. His love of culinary arts prompted him to obtain a Food Service Manager’s license and he volunteered as the head cook at The Resource Center, the Dallas LGBT center where he could give back to the community while gaining more experience in the culinary world.

“After divorcing last year, I took several months to decide where I wanted to create my next chapter,” said Mays. “Friends, Southern hospitality and an amazing restaurant scene made Nashville an easy decision. I’m so happy to be home.”
