NGLBTCC to team up with Nashville Area Chamber and participate in Regional Business After Hours event

The Nashville GLBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLBTCC) will team up with the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and participate in their annual Regional Business After Hours event that will be held on Nov. 13.

The event will take the place of NGLBTCC annual business expo. NGLBTCC leaders had said last year’s event, which was held at City Hall in the Gulch, might be the last year for the event or that the event would move to every other year. Instead, it will now join with a larger event to provide better exposure for its current membership.

“The Regional Business After Hours event is the Nashville Chamber’s largest networking/exhibitor event and is held in unique partnership with multiple chambers of commerce across the region,” explained Shane Burkett, executive vice president of NGLBTCC and chair of the annual expo event. “We’re honored that our membership has been invited to participate.”

The average attendance at the Regional Business After Hours event is 1,200 people and more than 160 exhibits. Last year officials estimated attendance at the NGLBTCC Expo at “about 500”.

“By teaming up with the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce on this event, we will continue to showcase our community and reach a much broader audience,” said Burkett.

The event will have a $20 admission cost – but that cost includes hors d'oeuvres, and two drink tickets for beer, wine or soft drinks.

Businesses who want to have an exhibit will pay $325 for a 10’wide x 5’ deep booth with a six foot skirted table. The cost also includes admission for four people.

The event will be held Nov. 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Nashville Convention Center, which is located in Downtown Nashville. Entrances are located off Broadway and Commerce Street.

Burkett said more information on the NGLBTCC involvement and ways to participate and sponsor would be announced at a later date.
