Nashville Symphony decks the concert hall with music this holiday season

The Nashville Symphony rings in the festivities this season with three concert events: a Christmas Special with José Feliciano on Friday, Dec. 14, and Sat. Dec. 15, at 8 p.m.; the Ann & Monroe Family Trust Pied Piper children’s concert “Happy Holidays!” on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m.; and Handel’s beloved Messiah on Thur., Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 21, and Sat., Dec. 22, at 8 p.m.

Best known for Christmas favorite “Feliz Navidad,” Puerto Rican guitarist and vocalist José Feliciano is recognized as the first Latin artist to crossover into the American music industry. This 16-time Grammy Award-winning artist joins the Nashville Symphony to celebrate the holiday season with holiday favorites such as Little Drummer Boy, The First Noel and more.

The Ann & Monroe Carell Family Trust Pied Piper Series
Happy Holidays!
Sat., Nov. 15, at 11 a.m.

Blair Children’s Chorus joins assistant conductor Kelly Corcoran and the Nashville Symphony in a program that includes selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Snow Maiden and Prokofiev’s Winter Bonfire Suite,among other works.

Pre-concert activities begin at 10 a.m. and include holiday crafts, temporary tattoo stations, NSOKids.org workstations, an instrument petting zoo, storybook nook and a possible visit from a surprise guest.

A long-standing tradition, the Nashville Symphony and the Nashville Symphony Chorus join together once again for performances of Handel’s celebrated Messiah at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Featured soloists include Awet Andemicael, Jennifer Dudley, Thomas Cooley and Weston Hurt.
