Nashville Selected as Test Market for Cricket’s New Unlimited Wireless Internet Service

Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, has launched Cricket Wireless Internet Service in the Nashville area.

Nashville is one of the first markets in the country to offer the service, along with Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Nashville residents will be able to access the Internet from their laptops anywhere in town, essentially turning all of Nashville into an Internet “hot spot.”  The new Internet service will be introduced this week with a series of free music concerts and other activities featuring cadres of street teams to spread the word.

“We are delighted to launch this great new service in Nashville and offer our local customers the chance to be one of the first in the country to have the freedom of this great service at a great price,” said Bill Boyce, Cricket district director for Middle Tennessee. “With Cricket’s Wireless Internet Service, customers get unlimited access for a flat monthly fee and won’t have to worry about finding a WIFI hot spot ever again. Essentially, our customers can become their own hot spot. I can’t think of a better way for people to be connected anywhere in town.”

Cricket Wireless Internet Service is available for just $40 per month for unlimited usage and there are no signed contracts. Existing Cricket’s mobile phone customers receive a $5 monthly discount, bringing their monthly rate to just $35. Cricket Wireless Internet Service customers can get online anywhere in the Cricket coverage area, which includes Nashville, Clarksville, Springfield, Gallatin, Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, Lebanon, Murfreesboro, Smyrna, La Verge, Columbia, Spring Hill, Franklin, Brentwood, Dickson and Hopkinsville, KY, as well as points in between these cities.

Additional activities include demonstrations of the new service at professional organizations, including the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, Nashville Technology Council, Nashville Advertising Federation and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, as well as fraternity and sorority chapters at Tennessee State University, Middle Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt. The presentations are free and include giveaways and door prizes. Also, Cricket street teams will visit local college campuses and area businesses to hand out giveaway items, free pizza and information about Cricket Wireless Internet Service.
