Member Spotlight:  Karen Pryor
Health Sphere Wellness Center, LLC

Karen Pryor, PhD, PT has 27 years experience as a Physical Therapist with extensive background in Natural Medicine.  She believes through the evaluation of the patient and finding the cause of an illness helps her design individual treatment programs for recovery and healing.  Karen works hand in hand with each patient to return the body to optimal health and function.

Karen is a Reiki Master, Medical Intuitive and Healing Touch 1-4.  Energy Techniques are used in conjunction with holistic treatments.  Crainosacral Therapy (I, II Somatoemotional release) is also combined with physical therapy treatments for thorough care.

Member Spotlight: Johnny Wyatt

Nashville nurse practitioner Johnny O. Wyatt was recently hired as an adjunct clinical faculty member by Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and will serve as an instructor of clinical nursing to master's students performing clinical rotations. Wyatt will also present guest lectures on diabetes at the university throughout the year.

Wyatt's other recent selections and accomplishments...

Wyatt is one of 21 nurse practitioners selected by the Fellows of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners to take part in their 2007 mentorship program. Wyatt's assigned mentor is Randy Rasch, PhD, FNP, FAANP, from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.

He has also been invited on a delegation to China this fall to teach diabetes self-management techniques to nurses and physicians. The delegation will include diabetes educators, nurses, nurse practitioners and physicians.

Wyatt's diabetes expertise will be further utilized when he serves on the Tennessee Department of Health's Diabetes Consortium as a consultant to help write a guide to diabetes care standards and practice recommendations. The consortium is made up of healthcare providers in multiple disciplines from all over the state who are involved in diabetes management.

During his down time, Wyatt enjoys travel, cooking, comedies and spending time with his canines, Murphy and Daphne.

Board Member Spotlight:  Jerry Jones

Jerry Jones serves as a senior information officer and regional news director for the Office of News and Public Affairs for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he provides assistance to media organizations throughout the Middle Tennessee Region.

Jerry also ownsTennessee's largest GLBT newspaper, "Out & About Newspaper," which he started in October 2002 and is executive producer and host of a community roundtable segment on Out & About Today TV on WTVF NewsChannel5+ (cable channel 50).  Jerry has been a member of the Chamber since 2003 and has served on the board for the last year and a half.

Jerry has a B.A. in communications and journalism from Lipscomb University and a master's degree in public administration from Tennessee State University.

Jerry is also a licensed emergency medical technician and certified firefighter.  He served as the public information officer and firefighter/engineer for the City of Brentwood, Tennessee as well as the Chief/Director of Emergency Management Services for Bedford County, Tennessee.  Before coming to Vanderbilt, Jerry worked with training fire and EMS departments across the country in basic concepts of emergency response to terrorism.
