Nashville-based Purity dairy debuts new line of low-fat frozen yogurt smoothies

Fitness fanatics and dessert-lovers alike now have something to celebrate. Purity Dairies, the Nashville-based processor and distributor of milk and ice cream products, has unveiled its latest concoction: a new line of frozen yogurt Smoothies, the first such product to hit freezer cases in the Southeast.

“Consumers have let us know they’re interested in more options for healthy, frozen treats—as long as they taste good. You won’t find anything else like this in the freezer case,” said Tim Tracy, ice cream sales manager at Purity Dairies.

Made with a frozen yogurt base and fresh fruit puree, Purity Dairies’ Smoothies offer a low-fat option for a healthy treat, with only 100 calories and 1.5g fat per serving. The newest product in Purity’s line of low-fat, healthy items, the Smoothies can be enjoyed in a bowl or cone, or mixed with other ingredients in a blender for a shake.

Purity’s Smoothies come in four varieties:

• Strawberry Freeze – Creamy frozen yogurt mixed with fresh strawberries
• Tropical Paradise – Fresh bits of pineapple, strawberry and kiwi perfectly blended with smooth frozen yogurt
• Island Delight – Bananas, strawberries and papayas combined with sweet vanilla frozen yogurt
• Hawaiian Surf – Smooth frozen yogurt blended with coconut bits and fresh pineapple

Each Smoothie flavor can be scooped and served right out of the box like traditional ice cream, or blended with ice and water to create a drinkable Smoothie Shake. Additional mix-ins, such as fresh fruit or protein powder, can also be included for an extra boost.

In addition to being low in fat, Purity’s Smoothies are also a source of calcium and vitamins A, C and D. The frozen yogurt base also means it contain probiotics and all their immune-boosting benefits.
