Crye-Leike, Realtors has announced that Nashville journalist Mike Machak has joined the company as director of public relations based out of its Middle Tennessee Headquarters office located in Brentwood.
Machak is responsible for public relations, corporate communications and news media relations in the eight state southern region served by Crye-Leike, Realtors. The company’s primary markets include: Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, Little Rock, Jackson, MS., Northwest Arkansas and Atlanta.
“I work closely with company founder and President Harold Crye, our managers and associates in all markets to identify opportunities to communicate: growth and development, sales activity, associate accomplishments and community involvement,” said Machak. “With 137 offices and more than 4,000 associates, there are opportunities every day to share our news with the public and communities we serve.”
In addition to his public relations responsibilities, Machak handles Crye-Leike’s internal communications and coordinates the company’s annual involvement in the United Way fundraising campaign.
For three years prior to joining Crye-Leike, Realtors, Machak was a residential mortgage loan officer. In the fall of 2006 he helped launch the opening and operation of a new Green Hills branch office for Countrywide Home Loans and Commerce Union Mortgage.

Machak is an under-graduate of New Mexico State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a 20-year television news veteran. He started his career in 1983 as a reporter and news anchor for KTSM-TV-AM-FM, the NBC affiliate in El Paso Texas. From there Machak’s career took him on to: WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, FL.; WFTV-TV in Orlando, FL.; WTVT, TV in Tampa, FL. and in 1996 he landing in Nashville at WSMV-TV Channel 4 News.
Since 1999 Machak has lived in the Bellevue community of West Nashville where he is a member of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Bellevue. He is also an active member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). In his free time Machak enjoys home improvement projects, entertaining and a daily fitness routine of weight training and running.
