Lana Luxx snatched the crown as the winner of Hamburger Mary’s Drag Survivor Season 3 this past August. Luxx won over 10 other seasoned queens and kings of Kansas City’s drag community competing in this All-Star cycle of the competition.

The season finale was fierce as the top four competitors took to the stage featuring 3 distinct looks; Werk the Runway, Animal Kingdom Realness, and Fairy Tale. Luxx KILLED IT in her opening number with a blue tearaway outfit made by local designer and drag queen Mulan Gabby (Gb Couture). She did a cute Jellyfish bit for the Animal category and an epic white rabbit look straight out of Wonderland for the Fairy Tale category. One by one Fellow competitors Luna Flare, Heidi Banks, and Ev were eliminated as Luxx took the crown and a cash prize of $1500.00

Luxx aka Landon Patterson has been a trailblazer in the Kansas City community as an openly trans woman. She went viral back in high school as the first trans homecoming queen at Oak Park High School in North Kansas City. Since then Patterson has been an outspoken member of the community advocating for inclusion for the LGBT community as well as trans-inclusion in the drag community itself.

“Winning the drag survivor crown was important to me because it would show the inclusivity in the drag community. As a trans woman who does drag I wanted to show that I’m a fierce queen as are my fellow sisters as well. There is a spot for us to be included in the spotlight of the drag scene and that’s exactly what I fought for,” Patterson said.

The next cycle of Drag Survivor 4 “Apocalypse” runs weekly every Thursday, 9 p.m., at Hamburger Mary’s in Midtown.
