Lucky's Garage plans first 'turnabout'

Lucky’s Garage will hold its first ever turnabout show with bar staff and owners sporting their version of the latest drag fashions on Friday, Feb. 9 at 10 p.m.

Customers will be greeted by the regular staff of Lucky’s in their not-so-regular attire. Lucky’s will also welcome to the stage several bar owners and staff for special performances. Not to be outdone, the regular cast of Lucky’s La Cage will be putting on their latest performances at 10:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.

“This event promises to be a lot of fun,” said Tony Daniel, owner and operations manager. “Our customers have been very supportive of our regular La Cage shows and our special events like drag queen mud wrestling and drag queen Jell-O wrestling.”

“As usual, there will be no cover charge for this event.” Daniel added.

A special Super Bowl party will be held at Lucky’s on Sunday, Feb. 4 with free food beginning at 3 p.m. The game will be shown in the front bar on the large screen TVs and there will be drink specials for the tailgate party and game.

During the month of February, Lucky’s will continue to host amateur nights on the first and third Thursday and Mr. Lucky’s contests every second and fourth Thursday. Both events are hosted by NeCe Sexton and pay audience-selected winners a $50 cash prize.

Lucky’s Garage is open Tuesday through Sunday with no cover charge. Tuesday through Friday features a happy hour from 5 to 8 p.m. with two for one well drinks and $2 domestic drafts.

Lucky’s Garage is located near the intersection of Church Street and 14th Avenue, next to Hustler Hollywood. The entrance to the club is on the alley and faces Church Street. Free secure parking for the club is located at the back of the building.
