Panel addresses UT human sexuality class

Katherine Brown’s human sexuality class got a look inside the GLBT community recently when a panel addressed the class on topics related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Jack Moore, Vickie Phipps, Rhonda Wright Phipps, and Beth Maples-Bays spoke to the students about their life experiences including such topics as coming out to family, early realization of same-sex attraction, self-loathing based on enculturation into conservative value systems, child custody, and other important issues.

The human sexuality class has offered a segment related to the GLBT community for many years. The time-honored tradition enables the community to present a human face to the students and their instructors.
