HRC Nashville hosts fourth-annual Wild West Showdown

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Nashville Chapter has announced plans for one of its signature benefit events, a night of music, entertainment and games dedicated to encouraging support for the nation’s largest GLBT rights organization. The fourth-annual Wicked Wild West Showdown will again take place at the Two Rivers Mansion on Friday, Oct. 19, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets to the Wild West Showdown are $30 per person in advance or $40 at the door. VIP tickets are also available for $60. Tickets information is accessible online at www.wildwestshowdown.net or on MySpace at www.myspace.com/wildwestshowdown07. Tickets will also be available for purchase or giveaway at select bars in Nashville in the weeks leading up to the event.

Rob Sikorski, one of the event‘s organizers says the Wild West Showdown, “is designed to not only raise money for HRC but to also provide awareness and promote participation in HRC and its activities.”

The night will include, but is not limited to:

  • Chuckwagon Dining & Drinks
  • Dancing with music by DJ Mindub
  • A Haunted House
  • Drag Queen Poker, Kissing Booth, and other games
  • Haunted Hay Rides
  • Hotel Shuttle to Two Rivers Mansion
  • Free Admission to Play Dance Bar
  • Three up-and-coming Music Artists
  • Panty Raid burlesque show

In the event’s first three years, attendance averaged approximately 800 and raised $5,000 for HRC, according to Sikorski. Those who plan to attend are encouraged to buy tickets in advance.

An eclectic group of musicians and entertainers will be featured this year. The emcees of the event are Panty Raid, Nashville’s burlesque revue. Panty Raid’s vaudeville-style show has garnered them a great deal of attention, including ranking #2 on AOL’s list of the U.S.’s “11 Best Burlesque Shows."

Panty Raid will perform between country artists Chad Trout, Karen Keely and headliner Elizabeth Cook. Elizabeth Cook’s new album, Balls, is up to #5 on the Americana charts and she has been called "this generation's Loretta Lynn" by Nanci Griffith.

DJ Mindub will provide tracks for guests to dance to during the event. More details about DJ Mindub can be found on his website, www.mindubonline.com.
