Hotel Indigo opens on West End

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms, announced today that the tenth Hotel Indigo has opened in Nashville, Tenn. Situated just one mile from downtown Nashville, the 139-room conversion property is the first Hotel Indigo to open in Tennessee.

The 11-story Hotel Indigo West End is conveniently located just blocks from popular Music Row, Vanderbilt University, the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Tennessee State Capital. Other nearby attractions include the Grand Ole Opry, Belle Meade Plantation and Nashville Super Speedway.

“Nashville is a creative and welcoming city, with a history rich in the performing arts, from world-famous country music to jazz, blues and rock,” said Jim Anhut, senior vice president, brand management, Hotel Indigo. “We’re excited to be bringing this hotel to a city just as unique as the Hotel Indigo brand."

The hotel features seven suites, the largest of which is a nearly 3,000 sq.-ft. Skyline Suite overlooking Music Row, the West End neighborhood and the skyline of downtown Nashville. The Skyline Suite boasts two balconies, fully equipped chef’s kitchen, separate living room and dining room, two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. All suites offer separate sitting and sleeping areas, some include balconies, as well as upgraded amenities, use of the concierge lounge, and a minimum of 750 sq.-ft of space.

The Hotel Indigo Nashville West End is owned by 1719 West End Holdings, LLC, and managed by Wesley Hotels & Resorts, under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group.

“Formerly an office tower known as Midtown Plaza, we are extremely pleased with the end result as a Hotel Indigo," said Wayne W. McAteer, Chairman and CEO for Wesley Hotels & Resorts. “As a unique branded boutique hotel, we know our guests will enjoy the distinctive experience they look for when visiting Music City," he said.

Boutique hotels, known for their intimate, luxurious environments in addition to personalized accommodations and services, have gained increasing popularity throughout North America. Hotel Indigo is known as the industry's first branded boutique hotel, artfully combining the conveniences and consistencies of a brand hotel with the design cache and service personality of a boutique at an affordable price. The soul of the brand’s retail-inspired concept is renewal – thoughtful changes that are made throughout the year to keep the hotel fresh, similar to the way retailers change their window displays. The renewal concept provides even the most frequent guest a unique experience with every stay. The hotel features renewable elements such as vivid music- and nature-inspired murals, area rugs, plush duvets and slip covers that will change periodically. Public spaces will be transformed seasonally through changing artwork, music, flora and murals.

The new hotel features signature design elements including oversized lobby chairs, which create a personal work or dining space within the public areas of the hotel; cozy, airy and inviting guestrooms with plush bedding, hardwood-style flooring and spa-inspired showers; a Phitness studio with cardio equipment and free weights. The hotel also offers The Golden Bean, an on-site casual gourmet restaurant, and Phi Bar, offering tempting entrees and starters in the evening, along with live entertainment; a 24-hour business center, high-speed Internet access in all guestrooms and wireless in the hotel’s public areas, as well as seven meeting rooms and function areas for business functions or special events. All guestrooms will have 32” LCD flat-panel televisions, and many of the rooms also offer a sitting area, with an additional LCD television.

Hotel Indigo Nashville-West End offers a concierge level with complimentary morning and evening lounge offerings, special events and additional services.
