The ever popular national city guide, CitySearch.com, may soon take a back seat within Nashville, if aspiring entrepreneur Chip Gaia has his way. Music City denizen, Gaia, will soon launch NashvillePulse.com, offering daily local discounts for bargain shoppers and a venue for businesses to reach anyone seeking a Nashville area business.
The idea evolved from owner Gaia’s sub-par experiences with sites such as CitySearch.com. Gaia had this to say when trying to find a place to eat while out of town, “I logged on to CitySearch.com only to find that several of the establishments had either closed or didn’t meet my expectations.”
The new site may indeed give CitySearch a run for its money. Nashville Pulse enables visitors to shop for hotel, retail, restaurant and entertainment deals, and even lists the top five visited deals in each category. Gaia told O&AN, “(Visitors will see) shoes being offered at discounted prices, happy hour deals at bars and nightclubs, and great prices on food. It will be like window shopping at the mall, but you won’t have to put on your shoes, burn gas, and fight for parking spots, only to find out you could have bought it cheaper next door.”
Gaia provides businesses with a portal to build their own page at Nashvillepulse.com and change discount offers as often as they like. Gaia stated, “If it’s raining out, the car repair shop may offer a free oil change for the day or Panera Bread may run a deep discount lunch special to encourage diners to bear the elements.”

Deloitte GLOBE and the GLBT Chamber launch new Web service
The local Deloitte Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual Employees (GLOBE) chapter and the Nashville GLBT Chamber celebrated the launch of a Web service that highlights local companies seeking minority job candidates in May at Radius 10.
This service is sponsored by Deloitte and will soon be available on the GLBT Chamber and the Middle Tennessee Black Data Processors Web sites, and it will include participation by HCA. Nashville In Harmony announces CD release and concert date
Nashville In Harmony, Tennessee's only professional community chorus comprised of GLBT persons, their friends and supporters, will be in concert on Saturday, June 23, at the Martha Rivers Ingram Center for the Performing Arts at the Blair School of Music, 2400 Blakemore Avenue, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The performance, complete with concert sound system and theatrical lighting, will include songs from their CD as well as new material. Special guest and local legend Jonell Mosser will perform with the chorus.
