Girl on Girl Comedy & Revue will collect toys for Nashville children

Girl on Girl Comedy & Revue’s Special Xmas Spectacular will be at Zanies Comedy Night Club on Wednesday, December 3 at 7:30pm!  They will be collecting toy donations to benefit the Metro Nashville Police’s Charity Christmas Basket Program that gives gifts to underprivileged and needy children in the Davidson County and Metro Nashville area.  They will also be accepting monetary donations for the charity.   

“Girl on Girl Comedy & Revue” is a comedy series featuring the best regional female and GLBT comedians and performers.  This month’s performers include:  Dana Moon, Jessica Michelle Singleton, Becky Robinson, and Lisa Curry from the Walk of Shame Tour (which they are filming as part of a documentary), Christy Eidson, and Amy Sulam, and Burlesque Performer Kitana Louise, Pole Dancer Jonas, and other surprise guests.  The Mistress of Ceremonies for all shows will be Nashville talent Christy Eidson.  This is the only show like it Nashville, that caters to not only a female audience but the GLBT community conjointly, and is the current longest running variety show in Nashville. 

Girl on Girl Comedy & Revue also gives back to the community by collecting money and raising awareness at each show for a local charity.  Over the last few years, they have raised money for the Walk to Defeat ALS, Doubtfire Face for Suicide Prevention, the Nashville Mission, Nashville PITTIE, the Second Harvest Food Bank, among many others. This month, they will be collecting toys for the Metro Police Christmas Charities.  Each year, Metro Christmas Basket Charities, Inc. collects money, food, and toys to be distributed to needy families, including many children, in the Metro Nashville area.  They “provide four bushels baskets of groceries per family.  The baskets of food and toys are assembled in a warehouse the week prior to Christmas.”  Walk to Defeat ALS® to do our part in the fight against Lou Gehrig’s

The Metro Christmas Basket Charities, Inc. is a non-profit charity which provides baskets of food and toys to needy families in the Metro area.  Several benefit motorcycle rides have been held annually for the past several years, which have been instrumental in raising money, toys, and stuffed animals. Several other organizations have also provided money and toys. Contributions are also made by police employees and other individuals in the community.

Zanies is located at 2025 8th Avenue South.  Tickets Girl on Girl Comedy tickets are $10 or FREE admission with a new, unwrapped toy or stuffed animal ($10 or greater value).  Show time is 7:30pm sharp.  They have a full bar and menu, so come thirsty and hungry.  Doors open at 6:30pm.
