Transportation
Parking at Liberty Memorial is extremely limited. For best options check out the new Maxx Bus Service (see Ray Jemison’s story on this page). Parking on the loop outside of the Festival is prohibited for all but handicapped parking. There are parking lots at Liberty Memorial, but the parking spaces are also very limited.
Best Place to Park
Use the area adjacent the Hallmark Center, directly across Main Street from the Festival and Liberty Memorial. Look for parking volunteers that will direct you to the best lot for parking.
Food
Available on Site and you may also bring a picnic lunch into the Festival grounds.
Beverages
Not allowed. Available for purchase. Alcohol requires proof of I.D. and the purchase of a liquor wrist-band.
Pets
Allowed at the Festival June 3 & 4. Pet owners are asked to be responsible for pet hygiene and pets must be kept on a leash in accordance with Kansas City’s leash laws.
The Pride Card
Purchase of this card allows free wrist bands for alcohol at StreetBlast and many, many more discounts available through merchants who support Kansas City Gay Pride. Discounts are available through December, 2006. Cards are regularly $25 and may be purchased from the following sources: Out There. LGCC-KC, Tootsies and individual directors of Pride.
