Fusion is an urban chic mixture or fusion of culinary, fashion, video, and visual and musical artists collectively expressing their talents to help fight cancer.
Fusion will take place on July 14 at City Hall, 405 12th Ave. South, and Project A Gallery, 501 12th Ave. South, adjacent to City Hall. The VIP party will run from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by the main event from 8 - 11:30 p.m.
This unique event will feature live music by an impressive roster of musicians from around the country, hip new works of up-and-coming visual artists, trendy local culinary delights, hot new fashions from Nashville Fashion Group’s local designers, viewings of local short films and a silent auction targeted toward young professionals.
Fusion is being hosted by the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, a non-profit public charity committed to raising money for the funding of an array of programs aiming to benefit cancer patients and their families.
The proceeds from the event will be used to send young adult cancer survivors on the Young Adult Cancer Survivors Retreat, an annual retreat for cancer survivors between the ages of 18 and 40. Last year, Fusion raised over $17,000 for the retreat.
Individual ticket prices are $25 per person and $75 for a VIP ticket (includes access to a catered party and advance art showing). Tickets may be purchased at www.nashvillefusion.com or at the door. Heather Karls, an independent graphic designer who founded Fusion in 2005 says, “We are so excited about Fusion '07 and seeing all of Nashville come out to support such a worthy cause. I feel this event is key to not only raising cancer awareness among a younger generation, but also in ‘fusing’ the wide array of art forms in Nashville, which is key in such a thriving arts community."
