As Nashville's best place to dance, Play is working hard to expose as many different styles of dance music to the crowd as possible. In order to help facilitate that, Play has signed two new DJs to do alternating guest spots every first weekend of the month.
Joining the internationally acclaimed remixed/producer/DJ Lenny B, guest DJs Stretch and Ron will be spinning the first weekend of each month. In addition to bringing a different flavor of music, Stretch and Ron are adding a visual dimension with live video mixing including a dance cam and graphics visualizations playing on the screens with the music.
Originally from Albany, New York, DJ Stretch has spent the last 14 years in the radio industry and has enjoyed spinning in such cities as Pittsburgh and Tallahassee. Soon after arriving in Nashville five years ago, Stretch broke into the Music City club scene and is very excited to be a member of the Play family.
“It is a true privilege to work along side such big names in the industry as Lenny B and DJ Ron,” says DJ Stretch.
A celebrity in his own right working tirelessly on the radio, in the club and at events of all possible social strata, Ron is helping to move the concept of the DJ to a new level: instead of music or video, the next step involves working with both in a way that equalizes the media - thus, the Me-J (or Media Jockey). With an expanding tour schedule, TV work and a possible mixed-DVD compilation all looming in the near future, the next level is here and the only way is up.

“DJ’s are really a lot like any other entertainer,” explains DJ Ron. “You read the crowd and adjust in order to keep the dance floor packed and to keep the energy going. We will certainly try to work our own styles in but our main purpose is to please the crowd.”
This new brand of crowd pleasing debuts the first weekend of March at Play, 1519 Church Street in Nashville.
