Dining Out For Life Raises a Record-Breaking, over $150,000 to Fight HIV/AIDS in Middle Tennessee

Over $150,000 was raised for HIV/AIDS as a result of the 2013 Dining Out For Life event that took place on Tuesday, April 23.  An estimated 10,000 people dined out at 73 participating restaurants to fight AIDS in Nashville.  Participating restaurants donated a generous percentage of proceeds from the day’s meals to Nashville CARES.

“Dining Out For Life allows us the opportunity to support Nashville CARES and all of the great work that they do to support those living with HIV/AIDS in our community.   By simply going out to eat and enjoying a meal with friends and loved ones you are able to help those in our community living with HIV/AIDS,” said Kevin Hartman, Nashville Pharmacy Services.

Arnold Myint's restaurants blvd nashville and PM, in addition to his co-owned restaurant Suzy Wong's House of Yum, also owned by David Taylor, Keith Blaydes, Joey Brown and Todd Roman, raised over $16,000 during the event and collectively were the top fundraising restaurants for the 2013 Dining Out For Life.

Returning Dining Out For Life co-chairs, Bob Deal and Jay Matheney, welcomed author and Nashville Scene food blogger, Chris Chamberlain as a co-chair. Co-Chairs, in addition to Kay West, Honorary Co-Chair, are excited about the outcome of this year’s record-breaking event.

“Embassy Dental is committed to the mission of Nashville CARES and proudly continues to support the agency as a major corporate sponsor and returning host for Dining Out For Life.  We are proud to be included in the network of dental providers who serve the needs of Nashville CARES clients.  We salute Nashville CARES for their commitment to serving those in need,” said Dr. Melamed, Embassy Dental.
