Dining Out For Life: A one-day celebration of food, friendship and fundraising

Dining Out For Life returns to Nashville on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 for the 16th year. Area restaurants will join in for a one-day celebration of food, friendship and fundraising. Since it started in 2003, the event has raised more than $1.6 million to fight HIV/AIDS in Middle Tennessee.

This year a talented culinary duo—executive chef Brian Riggenbach and front-of-house extraordinaire Mikey Corona—will serve as celebrity chairs for this event. Their success with Yo Soy Underground Supper and Brian’s win on Season 24 of Chopped led them to Nashville in 2016 to open The Mockingbird, a modern diner serving up global fare and delicious fun.

“Dining Out for Life and Nashville CARES is a cause that we wholeheartedly support to bring awareness to an epidemic that has lasted way too long,” said Corona. “Let’s use this evening to dish about ways to come about ending HIV/AIDS once and for all!”

Serving as event co-chairs are Lisa McCauley, Publisher of The East Nashvillian and a longtime DOFL Host, and Suzanne McMillan, Affiliate Broker with Zeitlin & Co.

CARES is expecting as many as 80 restaurants to participate this year, donating a substantial percentage of their sales for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner to Nashville CARES. “This year we hope to raise $140,000 from this event,” said Alyson Woods, Nashville CARES Associate Director of Development “We couldn’t do that without the support of these generous restaurants, volunteer hosts and thousands of hungry diners!”

To get involved: gather your family, friends or co-workers and head to a local participating restaurant. To view a list of participating restaurants, visit www.DiningOutForLife.com/Nashville.

PhRMA is the presenting sponsor of the event locally. This year marks Subaru’s tenth year as International Host of the annual eating extravaganza. Nashville CARES once again welcomes Downtown Subaru as a local partner and sponsor.

Additional sponsors include: NPS Pharmacy, Vanderbilt University; Kraft CPAs, The Scene, Focus Middle Tennessee, The East Nashvillian, 417 Union, and Dorothy Cate & Thomas Frist Foundation.

Restaurants interested in participating should contact Nashville CARES at dofl@NashvilleCARES.org for more information about the event.
