Custom frame shop celebrates 25 years by offering pet portraits

The custom frame shop has been around for 25 years and its owners are celebrating the anniversary on Aug. 2 by hosting a Pet Portrait Day. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Nashville Humane Association.

The Beveled Edge, a custom frame and gift shop, is offering pet lovers the opportunity to be photographed with their pets, or the pet alone, by award-winning photographer Helen Burrus. The event is from noon to 4 p.m. at the store located at 73 White Bridge Road #114.

For $25 per photo session, customers will receive one 5X7 and two wallet-sized photos which can be picked up after about a week. Each session will last about 10 minutes. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended. Call (615) 356-7784.

“Since opening our doors in 1983, we've always been a pet-friendly store. It’s part of what’s given The Beveled Edge the comfortable, welcome atmosphere that customers love,” said co-owner and founder Susan Taylor. “As part of our 25th anniversary celebration, we wanted to host an event that is fun for our customers and their pets and also benefits the Nashville Humane Association.”

The store's owners and employees provide customers with guidance in selecting frames and accessories that compliment their artwork, home and budget.

“Twenty-five years ago The Beveled Edge opened as a small, do-it-yourself frame business, and now it’s a full-service custom frame shop and become one of Nashville’s premier gift stores,” said co-owner William Smithson.  “Susan and I feel very fortunate to be owners of such a thriving, successful store.  We have so many loyal customers and we look forward to helping them with unique gifts and framing for another 25 years.”

The store's owners are also hosting a celebration on Aug. 1 welcoming customers to the store for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres from 5 to 7 p.m.
