Author Christopher Rice discusses his new book on Out & About Today TV

Best selling author Christopher Rice talks about his new book, Blind Fall, in an exclusive TV interview on Out & About Today on NewsChannel 5+.

O&A Today entertainment reporter Chuck Long talks with Rice in two segments – a regular segment on the TV show that will air on April 4, 5, 6, 18, 19, 20 on cable channel 50 (NewsChannel 5+) and a special extended interview Web broadcast that will air on www.outandabouttoday.com and www.outandaboutnewspaper.com.

“Writing is hard work,” Rice tells Long during the interview. “It takes discipline and you have to treat it like any job.”

Rice is on a multi-city book tour promoting his new novel, Blind Fall, which Rice says is the first book he’s written from the point of view of a “straight character.”

“It's the first novel I've written entirely from the point of view of a straight character,” he told O&AN. “After returning home from Iraq this straight Marine seeks out the friend who saved his life in combat and discovers the man has been murdered in his home. He sees another man running from the scene and pursues him into the woods. It turns out this man is actually the slain Marine's secret boyfriend. The story takes place over seven to 10 days.”

“It’s the best book he’s written yet,” Long said. “I couldn’t put it down. It’s quite a page turner and very unpredictable.”

It’s was Rice’s third visit to Nashville. He was here promoting the book at OutLoud! Books and Gifts and Davis-Kidd Booksellers.

During the interview on O&A Today Rice talks about:

  • His mother’s (author Anne Rice) “best advice”
  • The upcoming election
  • Gays in the military
  • Gay marriage
  • How his fans have reacted to the book Blind Fall
