Pandora Boxx
Pandora Boxx is a drag queen known for being a popular contestant on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the hit reality television show. Though Pandora Boxx didn’t win that season, Boxx was known for her comedy and campy style and continued to go on to win Miss Congeniality. Boxx also become MVP two seasons in a row in the spinoff series Drag U. Boxx gives the best description from the debut episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Season 2: “Pandora is definitely a melting pot of different people you know. There is like a dash of Madonna, a sprinkle of Goldie Hawn, and a big chunk of Kathy Griffin thrown in there to just kind of like fuse it all together into this melted pot of goo that becomes Pandora.” But Pandora Boxx is more than just goo. Boxx’s single “Cooter” is available on iTunes. She will be appearing at 11 p.m. Friday, June 1, at Missie B’s in Kansas City, Mo.
Karmin
Rising young pop sensation Karmin will be in Kansas City on Saturday night, June 2, at the Power & Light District for Pride. They are originally known for their covers of Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now” and Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass,” but have now released their own originals like the recent “Brokenhearted,” and they are spreading like melted butter in a skillet. In a recent YouTube video, Karmin makes a welcoming messaging for their upcoming Kansas City performance: “We celebrate LGBT diversity and civil liberties and can’t wait to share our music with you.”

Originally from the East Coast, now a transplant to San Francisco, DJ James Torres marries the sounds of both coasts. Torres is joining DJ Jeff-E as a host of Bear Bust: PRIDE from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, June 2, at Hamburger Mary’s in Kansas City, Mo.

The two -- Brian Prince and Blair Pierce -- have worked with national record labels and radio stations, and they are known for their visuals and mixing alternative, electro, and house music. They can be heard from 10 p.m. every Saturday night to 1 a.m. on 96.5 The Buzz in Kansas City for their show alteRated. They will be hosting a tea dance benefit called “Viva! Carnival!” for KC Latino Gay Pride and the Good Samaritan Project from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, at Hamburger Mary’s.
