Tammy Faye Starlite's Born Again Again

The country-singing nymphomaniacal evangelist, Tammy Faye Starlite is newly denarcotized. Live on radio station KKOK, she will be spreading His glorious gospel of truth in "Born Again Again" for one night only at PLAY on Friday, July 15th at 7:30 and 9:30pm!  It's the end of the world. And that's just the beginning.

In "Born Again Again", Tammy Faye Starlite will discuss her new cd, her newly drugless existence, and the imminent return of Christ. Directed by Michael Schiralli (Jackie Hoffman:The Kvetching Continues, Varla Jean Merman's Girl With A Pearl Necklace) and featuring Jeff Ward as DJ Gareth Clover, and Keith Hartel as Tammy's guitarist/ex-homosexual, ex-husband, Jim Rob Gandy.  There will also be a special appearance by a guest oracle.

In a recent interview with the New York Sun, Steve Earle said "Tammy is funnier every time I see her".   Mr. Earle came out of the audience to sing the Rolling Stones' "Dead Flowers" with her in a performance at Joe's Pub at the New York Public Theater, and he invited her to open for him at the Bowery Ballroom. "She has kind of stumbled into greater relevance with what's happening in the world right now," Mr. Earle said in a phone interview this past April. "Very powerful people have learned how to manipulate folks through faith and fear. Being absolutely irreverent is an important way to fight back."

Tammy Faye Starlite is the alter ego of comic actress and New York native Tammy Lang.  She has co-written material with Eric Drysdale who is a two time Emmy Award Winner for his work on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Born Again Again originally premiered this past April at the Ars Nova Theatre in New York and was also performed at Joe's Pub in June.  After Nashville, Ms. Starlite heads up North for an August run in Provincetown at the UU Meeting House Theatre.

Born Again Again is a little playlet that promises to teach us all, in the words of country giant Alan Jackson, "a lot about living and a little 'bout love."

I don’t know what it is with men’s jeans that make it so difficult to find the right pair. It takes time to go through all these denim brands and try styles like straight-legged, boot-cut, and then the disco favorite, flared jeans. Thanks to popular metal bands back in the day, acid-washed and stone-washed jeans were a thing–pair those with a biker jacket and some big hair, and you were set.

I think we’ve all been there back in the day when we smoked our first joint, and then some, (sorry mom)–hacking, coughing, and choking on the herbaceous weed. Nowadays, there are several products on the market that produces the same effects but without a sore throat like the popular cannabis edibles.
