Heartland Soccer's Midwest all girls tournament to 'GO PINK' for Breast Cancer Awareness

Heartland Soccer, America’s largest league and tournament host, is excited to once again partner with Tohi, title sponsor of the Midwest All Girls Tournament, and HCA Midwest Health as we GO PINK at SCHEELS Overland Park Soccer Complex for Breast Cancer Awareness.

The Midwest All Girls Tournament fueled by Tohi, the Official Healthy Lifestyle Beverage of Heartland Soccer, will be held October 1-3, 2021 at the SCHEELS Overland Park Soccer Complex and GARMIN Olathe Soccer Complex.

As one of Kansas City metropolitan area's largest all girl soccer tournaments, the Midwest All Girls Tournament is set to attract more than 300 teams from multiple states, drawing thousands of children, parents, grandparents and families from across the region, bringing in an estimated economic impact of $5.4 million over the weekend (event estimations provided by Visit KC).

Tournament title sponsor, Tohi, is a Kansas City based, female-founded wellness brand innovating antioxidant-rich beverages from Midwest grown Aronia Berries. Tohi has attributes and functionality important to the whole family, including: non-GMO certification, no added sugar, low calories, non-carbonated and no caffeine.

Heartland Soccer and Tohi, along with HCA Midwest Health will PINK OUT the SCHEELS Overland Park and GARMIN Olathe Soccer Complexes tournament weekend. The GO PINK presence is designed to raise awareness for October's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and remind women to get their mammogram, because early detection saves lives. Field marshals and tournament staff will be dressed in PINK attire and fans and supporters are encouraged to wear PINK to show their support.

"Being a partner with Heartland Soccer Association and SCHEELS Overland Park Soccer Complex helps us in creating awareness for the need to have people book an appointment for a mammogram," says Dr. Anne Kobbermann, M.D. Board-certified and Fellowship-trained Breast Surgical Oncologist at Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Overland Park Regional and Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Menorah Medical Center.

"As we continue to battle through this pandemic, events like the Midwest All Girls Soccer tournament become even more important. We know that the best defense for any cancer is early detection, it helps saves lives when it comes to diagnosing and treating breast cancer."
