New Web site launches for GLBT community

A Nashville couple has launched a new Web site that will serve as an online social network Web site serving a global GLBT community.

Gregory Fry and Shane Moore with GS Enterprises, Inc., have launched GayCouples4Fun.com that will allow users to search, connect and chat with other GLBT people in "a simple, easy-to-navigate web environment."

While the sites URL, GayCouples4Fun.com implies a “couples-only” environment, the founders of the Web site say that's just one component, and that the site is inclusive to all members of the GLBT community.

“GayCouples4Fun.com is a web site that’s completely inclusive to all members of the GLBT community," Fry said. "Regardless of your preference, everyone is welcome to meet new friends in this interactive environment.”

Fry is managing partner and president of GS Enterprises, Inc.

“We really had a desire to provide the GLBT community with an outlet to meet other couples as well as a place where singles could meet and perhaps become couples—who knows because the possibilities are endless,” added Moore, who is managing partner and vice president of GS Enterprises, Inc.

“We wanted to provide a site that the GLBT community could use to define Fun for themselves” said Fry.

The site not only provides a forum for meeting new friends and networking, it also provides a shopping, blogging and an Events area. Users can post blogs and photos in their profile area.

“The search feature is very advanced, it allows user to find friends based on literally thousands of unique criteria combinations,” said Moore.

GayCouples4Fun.com will celebrate the worldwide launch of the site at Tribe Video Bar in Nashville, Tennessee May 8 at 8 p.m. and a Southeastern launch in Atlanta’s Wild Mustang Nightclub on May 10 at 8 p.m.

“Much like the GayCouples4Fun.com web site, everyone is welcome to attend these free events” states Moore.

To celebrate the worldwide launch, GayCouples4Fun.com, GS Enterprises, Inc. is providing new users with a free premium membership until Midnight, May 8, 2008 or two full weeks, whichever is greater. For more information, log onto www.gaycouples4fun.com.

I think we’ve all been there back in the day when we smoked our first joint, and then some, (sorry mom)–hacking, coughing, and choking on the herbaceous weed. As an LGBTQ+ patient, you should be able to expect the same high-quality care provided to all patients. Unfortunately, this doesn’t necessarily always prove to be the case. There remains a notoriously significant disparity in healthcare outcomes for LGBTQ+ patients, often related to issues with discrimination among providers.

Even when you find a good physician, this doesn’t mean that everyone interacting with your healthcare information will be as respectful or responsible. It is, therefore, important to be vigilant about how your data is handled. You have a right to privacy just as you have an expectation of fair treatment.
