"Nashville CARES is delighted to inaugurate this partnership with Trinity Episcopal to better serve the Clarksville and Montgomery County community, said CARES CEO Joseph Interrante.  "Given what we know about the benefits of early diagnosis--both for treating HIV disease and for preventing new infections--NHTD activities are an especially important way to begin our collaboration."

Additionally, Nashville CARES has teamed with Walgreens tp provide free testing June 27-29.

Nashville CARES will offer free HIV tests on the following dates at the Walgreens location at 1081 Murfreesboro Pike:

Thursday, June 27: 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Friday, June 28: 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Saturday, June 29: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Nashville CARES urges individuals to be tested for HIV on June 27, National HIV Testing Day (NHTD).

“The courageous act of routine HIV screening is one of the healthiest, paradigm changing acts anyone can do for their personal and community public health,” said CARES Chief Program Officer, Patrick Luther.  “It gives everyone unprecedented access to early HIV care that substantially prolongs the quality and quantity of life with HIV.  It protects future generations from the disease itself.  And, routine screening by everyone, by its occurrence in an ongoing way, halts the very things that have created the epidemic itself - stigma, hate, misinformation, stereotype, ignorance, apathy and indifference.”

Walk-in testing is also provided during normal business hours at Nashville CARES at 633 Thompson Lane.  For more information, call their HEARTline at 1-800-845-4266.
